Travel Protection: This is a brief description of the insurance protection and services provided in this program. Exclusions, conditions, and limitations may apply. Coverage is available for trips over 30 days at a $4.00 per person per day fee starting on the 30th day. A complete description, including a complete list of exclusions, conditions and limitations, will be provided to you by your AAA Carolinas representative upon purchase.
Trip Cancellation/Interruption*: Coverage provides financial protection for expenses related to trip cancellation or interruption caused by a covered reason. Trip cancellation provides reimbursement for prepaid, non-refundable expenses, up to the amount coverage purchased. Trip interruption coverage offers reimbursement for the unused, non-refundable portion of your trip and increased transportation costs for you to return home due to a covered reason.
Emergency Medical/Dental*: Coverage provides benefits for emergency expenses you incur during the coverage period. Services must be provided by a licenses provider and must take place during your trip.
Emergency Medical Transportation: Pays for emergency medical transportation services, authorized in advance and organized by the Access America hotline center and medically required as a result of an injury or illness which occurs during the coverage period, to have you moved to the nearest appropriate facility. Once you are able to travel, we will also pay up to $5,000 to have you returned home.
Baggage Coverage*: Provides benefits for loss, damage or theft of baggage and personal effects provided you have taken all reasonable measures to protect, save and/or recover your property. Coverage is secondary to coverage provided by a common carrier.
Baggage Delay*: Covers the reasonable additional purchase of essential items if your baggage is delayed or misdirected by a common carrier for 24 hours or more. Receipts for emergency purchases are required.
Travel Delay*: Provides coverage on a one-time basis for reasonable, additional accommodation and traveling expenses you incur due to a covered travel delay of 6 or more hours. Prepaid expenses are not covered. Benefits are limited to $150 per day per policy.
Missed Connection*: Provides reimbursement of up to $1,000 to cover certain expenses caused by a covered delay that forces you to miss your scheduled flight or cruise. In order to receive benefits the delay must have been caused by a traffic accident en route to a departure or bad weather that affected your ability to reach the airport, assuming you were scheduled to arrive at the airport 2 hours prior to your schedule departure. Coverage is also provided of your regularly scheduled airline flight is cancelled or delayed by at least 3 hours solely due to bad weather and this forces you to miss your cruise.
Trip Inconvenience*: Coverage will pay a one-time $100 benefit if your sporting equipment, which is checked with a common carrier, is delayed by the common carrier for more than 24 hours after you have reached your trip destination.
